Hi, my name is Laura and I am a fully qualified Personal Trainer specialising in pre and postnatal exercise. 7 years ago while pregnant with my first daughter, I discovered there to be a genuine lack of knowledge and understanding regarding pre and postnatal exercise aside from the usual recommendations of swimming and yoga. Like many women, I wanted to continue my existing fitness routines for as long as possible but found it hard to find an instructor who could confidently advise me on the adaptations needed to cater for my growing bump.
As the mother of (now) two young girls, I have witnessed first-hand the positive impact pre and postnatal exercise can have. Having experienced a difficult birth and recovery period of my own, I can empathise with mothers who may be finding it hard and understand the importance of carefully planned exercise to ensure the postnatal body recovers safely. As part of my services, I offer a holistic approach to health and exercise that focuses on the mother’s wellbeing taking into account lifestyle and nutrition. This can come in the form of 1-on-1 sessions or as part of bespoke group packages tailored to the needs of up to 10 women.
As well as my running my own business, I also work for Horfield and Easton Leisure Centres, delivering group cycling several times a week. I love these classes and highly recommend them as part of a balanced and varied fitness programme. In between classes and clients, I can often be found exercising with my two gorgeous girls in any one of the many amazing green open spaces we are fortunate to have here in north Bristol.
